With Season 7 throwing IO and alien tech weapons into the mix, here is the definitive tier list of the best weapons in Fortnite.

fortnite season 7 weapon tier list

Fortnite Season 7 has a massive loot pool allowing players to choose the weapons that best fit their play style. This definitive tier list shows what the best weapons in Fortnite really are.

Like many of the seasons in Chapter 2, Season 7 has introduced its own unique weapons. Season 6 had primal weaponry. Season 4 featured Marvel-themed weapons. Now, Season 7 has a mix of alien and IO tech weapons that shake up the gameplay.

Not only are these weapons new versions of preexisting classes, but they also have unique functionalities that players haven’t seen before. The ray gun shoots a continuous beam and never runs out of ammo. The Rail Gun shoots through walls but has to charge up before shooting. Season 7 has introduced some of the best weapons in Fortnite.

Best weapons in Fortnite Season 7

Our approach to ranking the weapons in Fortnite Season 7 is a traditional tier list with S tier being the highest ranking, and D tier being the lowest. These rankings are formed using each weapon’s stats, community opinions, and personal in-game experience.

As new weapons are added, and statistics are changed, this tier list will fluctuate. We are already aware of multiple weapons that will be added to Season 7 but won’t be placed on the list until they’re released. With that being said, here is the definitive Fortnite Season 7 weapon tier list.

S Tier Weapons

WeaponDPSReload TimeMag SizeIcon
Rail Gun942.7 seconds1fortnite rail gun
SCAR (Legendary AR)1982.1 seconds30
Rocket Launcher97.52.5 seconds1
Recon Scanner1515 second recharge2
UFO Cannon300 seconds

S Tier weapons are undeniably the best weapons in Fortnite. The new Rail Gun has quickly become a fan favorite due to its deadly accuracy, ability to shoot through walls, and countering capabilities to UFOs. When paired with another S Tier weapon, the Recon Scanner, picking off enemies is easier than ever.

The Recon Scanner is in S Tier, not because of its raw damage output, but because of its utility. If knowing where your enemy is located is half of the battle, the Recon Scanner has that half covered. The SCAR and Rocket Launcher have been faithful S Tier weapons since the beginning of Fortnite, and the UFO is a devastating addition to the game. In a similar avenue to the B.R.U.T.E. of Season X, the UFO has earned the title of OP.

A Tier Weapons

WeaponDPSReload TimeMag SizeIcon
Assault Rifle181.52.3 seconds30
Tactical Shotgun1325.1 seconds8
Pump Shotgun81.23.7 seconds5
Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle38.282.5 seconds1
Submachine Gun2201.9 seconds35
Burst Assault Rifle 1462.3 seconds20

A Tier is full of classic weapons that have been faithful to players since the beginning of Fortnite. The Assault Rifle, Tac/Pump Shotgun, and Bolt-Action Sniper have been the weapons of choice for several seasons.

Other candidates made it into the A tier such as the Submachine Gun and Burst Assault Rifle. SMGs, especially when in their Epic or Legendary rarities, can shred through builds and melt opponents’ health and shield. Burst Assault Rifles are just as handy as Assault Rifles, and it really boils down to the player’s preference.

B Tier Weapons

WeaponDPSReload TimeMag SizeIcon
Heavy Assault Rifle174.252.5 seconds25
Rapid Fire SMG2551.3 seconds26
Pulse Rifle151.22.8516
Hand Cannon62.415 seconds7

B Tier is inadvertently reserved for worse variants of high-tier weapons. The Heavy AR shoots much slower than the AR and has terrible bloom at lower rarities. The Rapid Fire SMG is a powerhouse for players with an exceptional aim, but its small magazine forces players to make every bullet count.

The Pulse Rifle is a new weapon, but it’s similar to the Blaster Rifle. It has a 16 bullet mag and doesn’t deal much more damage than the Assault Rifle. Not to mention, it fires slower when ADS than from the hip making it a poor man’s AR. The Hand Cannon is a fun weapon to use that also deals a powerful blow each shot. However, its small magazine, slow rate of fire, and need for accuracy make it difficult to use.

C Tier Weapons

WeaponDPSReload TimeMag SizeIcon
Lever Action Shotgun108.55.4 seconds6

C Tier is the last tier of viable weapons before the worst of the gun. The Lever Action Shotgun isn’t a terrible gun, but it’s nobody’s first choice. The Tactical and Pump shotguns both deal more damage and faster reload times. But what makes the Lever Action the worst of the shotguns is that players have to use nuts and bolts to craft one.

D Tier Weapons

WeaponDPSReload TimeMag SizeIcon
Pistol195.71.3 seconds16
Kymera Ray Gun1652 seconds

The Pistol is one weapon that has been around since the dawn of Fortnite, but it hasn’t evolved over time. Its small magazine and limited damage mitigation make it viable early game, but its utility falls off after the first few minutes of a match.

The Ray Gun is a new weapon that shoots a continuous beam and deals damage similar to the SMG. However, the death ray does little damage to builds and players. It can deal damage at a great range but isn’t a weapon many players prefer. A player would be better off picking up a pistol to defend themselves.

All Fortnite China Cosmetics that could be lost following test shutdown

Fortnite China is shutting down its test servers, and here are all of the exclusive cosmetics that could be lost for good.

Fortnite China is shutting down its test servers, and here are all of the cosmetic items that are exclusive to the Chinese version of Fortnite.

China regulates the games it allows pretty heavily. These regulations especially apply to violent games such as Battle Royales. And while Fortnite is fairly cartoonish, Epic Games had to make some changes for it to be playable in China.

One of China’s biggest rules is that there cannot be any depiction of skulls. Regardless of how the skull is depicted, there are no skulls allowed in games localized to China. Epic Games was forced to change some of its cosmetics because of this rule.

However, Epic Games released some cosmetic items exclusive to Fortnite China. Fortnite China is shutting down its servers for good, and international players could miss out on these cosmetics forever.

As mentioned before, Epic Games had to change several skins because they included skulls. Instead of completely removing these cosmetics, Fortnite included additional skull-free styles.

These skins include Shadow Brutus, Menace, Blackheart, and Eternal Voyager. Fortnite changed some of their appearances slightly, while other changes were quite drastic. The image below shows all of the Fortnite China exclusive skin styles.

Fortnite also released a line of cosmetics exclusive to China. Epic Games have these cosmetics to players who participated in the Fortnite China testing over the past two years. However, no one outside of China was able to get these rewards.

These cosmetics included two back blings and two pickaxes. These were completely original cosmetic items and not just reskins of preexisting items. Now, these items could be gone forever.

The image below shows all four of the Fortnite China exclusive items.

A lot of players think Epic Games should make these cosmetics available to international players, but what do you think? Are these cosmetics worth releasing worldwide? Let us know on Twitter via @FortINTEL.

Top 5 most forgotten Fortnite weapons and items

Epic Games has come up with a lot fo creative and game-changing concepts, but here are the most forgotten Fortnite weapons and items.

Published

on

Over the past 17 seasons, Fortnite has added a ton of new weapons and items to the game. But here are the most forgotten Fortnite weapons and items you may not even remember.

Some weapons are so iconic, Fortnite wouldn’t be the same without them. The SCAR, Pump Shotgun, and Pistol are trademark firearms, and the game feels weird without them. While these items have been removed for short periods of time, Epic Games knows better than to take them away for good.

Other weapons lived a very short lifespan in the game but were unforgettable additions. The B.R.U.T.E. Mechs, Infinity Blade, and Guided Missles wreaked havoc for a short time before being removed indefinitely. They may never return, but they will never be forgotten.

That leaves us with one last category of Fortnite items and weapons. These were the very few additions to the game that were underwhelming, useless, and ultimately forgettable. These are the top 5 most forgotten Fortnite weapons and items.

5. Decoy Grenade

Decoy Grenades are the most recent addition to Fortnite that appears on this list. Added in Chapter 2 Season 2, they were promptly vaulted at the start of Season 4. These throwable items would deploy a decoy AI that looked identical to the player. However, these decoys couldn’t deal damage to players to structures, and they took no time at all to kill.

It’s no wonder that the Decoy Grenade has found a place on the most forgotten Fortnite weapons list, as it was pretty useless most of the time. Skilled players hardly fell for a decoy, and the AI would give away the player’s location.

4. Poison Dart Trap

fortnite poison dart trap

The Poison Dart Trap stuck around for two-thirds of a season in Chapter 1 before being wiped from existence. It was the latest in a line of experimental traps Epic Games would implement to replace Spike Traps. However, its short lifespan made it one of the most forgotten Fortnite weapons.

That’s not to say these traps were bad. In fact, they were actually quite powerful. They would deal 80 damage directly to the player’s health and could shoot up to three tiles away. The darts would reload every 7 seconds before firing again. They wouldn’t one-shot kill any passersby, but would greatly weaken them making fights much easier.

3. Rusty Can

This forgotten weapon is unique because it’s actually still in Fortnite. Added during Chapter 2 Season 1, players can fish up Rusty Cans by casting their rods away from fishing holes. Since players don’t normally fish in still water or use Rare fishing rods, the Rusty Can has faded into obscurity.

And rightfully so seeing as the Rusty Can is virtually useless. It deals 20 damage to players and can only be carried in stacks of 3. Since a player’s pickaxe also does 20 damage a hit, Rusty Cans shouldn’t even be considered a last resort.

2. Machine Pistol

Nope, the weapon you see above isn’t another SMG. It’s the long-forgotten Machine Pistol. However, there’s a good reason why nobody remembers this thing. It was added as a part of Update v1.6.4 in late 2017. Just a few months later, Fortnite v2.50 was released vaulting the Machine Pistol.

Most players who do remember the Machine Pistol were likely exposed to it due to a slip-up during Season X. This season had a Solid Gold LTM which featured all Legendary weapons. For some reason, the Machine Pistol was accidentally added to this mode as well even though it doesn’t come in Legendary rarity.

1. Eye of the Storm Tracker

Did you know this thing existed? We sure didn’t before starting this list. That’s because the Eye of the Storm Tracker was available for all of 30 minutes before being removed forever. This utility item would show players the location of the next Storm Circle when equipped. A useful utility that would help with rotation, but wasn’t around long enough to test.

No worries though, the Storm Scout Rifle would later be added with the same functionality. Why this item was added and then removed so quickly remains a mystery. Regardless, it has earned the number 1 spot on the list of most forgotten Fortnite weapons and items.

The top 10 sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite (2021)

Fortnite sweats love to use a particular set of cosmetics for aesthetic or advantage. Here are the top 10 sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite.

fortnite sweatiest skins

Here are the top 10 sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite. If you see a player wearing any of these, it might be best to avoid them at all costs.

Last year, we completed a list of the top-ten sweatiest skins in the game. Many of those skins have retained their “sweaty” status, but we’ve seen a lot of Item Shop updates since then.

As most players know, a Fortnite sweat isn’t only distinguishable by their skin. Their pickaxe and back bling also tell a story, which is why we’re opening this list to include additional sweaty Fortnite cosmetics.

As we said, a lot of the skins from last year are still drenched in sweat, and you’ll see a lot of them on this list. However, as players evolve and more skins are released, we will continue to update this list with the sweatiest of skins. Here are the top 10 sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite.

Recon Expert

In our first article, we listed the “OG Skins” as some of the sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite. Let’s be real. A lot of the sweatiest players today weren’t playing when Renegade Raider and Black Knight were available. However, the “recent” release of a certain OG Skin has a lot of sweaty players pretending they were playing in 2017.

The Recon Expert was a rare skin, but new sweats were given the opportunity to purchase it after its re-release. Unlike Ghoul Trooper or Skull Trooper, OG owners weren’t given an exclusive style. Now, it’s impossible to discern an OG sweat from a wannabe.

Pink Ghoul Trooper

This is an OG skin that has stood the test of time for many reasons. While original owners of the Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper were given exclusive styles, the Pink Ghoul Trooper is the only skin sweaty players still use.

For one, it proves that they were around during the early days of Fortnite. And two, it’s a female skin which many pro players prefer. It isn’t used in competitive play because of its vibrant colors, but sweaty players will show their dominance wearing the Pink Ghoul Trooper in Pubs.

Banner Brigade set

Banner Brigade may have overtaken the Soccer skins in terms of the sweatiest set in Fortnite. They offer substantial value for their price – only 800 V-Bucks with the ability to customize the style – but seem to be dominated by those at the top level.

We aren’t seeing as many Banner Brigade skins as we were last year, but the two back bling options are still very common. It’s easy to understand why. These are the only cosmetics that make your Banner mean something, and the customization options make them a good value.

Soccer Skins

Speaking of Soccer Skins, you didn’t really think they wouldn’t be on the list did you? These are iconic skins for sweaty players. Mainly younger players who had to coax their parents into buying them V-Bucks so they could buy their own customizable skin.

They aren’t nearly as popular now as many other skins on this list. That being said, you know you’re in for a fight if you see one. A sweat who continues to wear their soccer skin probably spends more time in creative courses than the actual game, and they are ready to taste blood.

Studded Axe

The Studded Axe is one of the sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite due to its competitive advantage. This bad boy barely makes a sound when it’s harvesting mats, and its sleek design makes it harder to see.

It’s also in the Item Shop quite frequently, so wannabe pro-players have the opportunity to purchase it every month or so. There are other axes that are just as quiet but harder to obtain. That’s why you’ll run into a lot of sweaty players running the Studded Axe

Star Wand

Speaking of sweaty harvesting tools, the Star Wand is by far the sweatiest pickaxe in Fortnite. Why? We have no idea. A handful of pros use it. It makes minimal noise when swung. But it isn’t all that rare.

However, its sweatiness is undeniable. It’s a well-known meme in the Fortnite community that the Star Wand is used exclusively by sweats. Maybe players are hoping that the wand will be bugged again to deal 75 damage per swing. That likely won’t happen, but that won’t stop sweaty players from hoping

Sparkplug

Sparkplug, like a lot of skins on this list, is the skin of a Creative Warrior. It’s not as common as some of the others on the list, but it’s sweaty, nonetheless.

In my experience, a Sparkplug skin is often the real deal. You have a lot of pretenders wearing Soccer skins and Star Wands, but Sparkplug skins are killers; more often than not.

fortnite sweatiest skin sparkplug

Aura

Aura was one of those skins that you knew would be ‘sweaty,’ and it didn’t disappoint. For some reason, Aura became the primary skin of several pro-Fortnite players and sweats across the world.

Why is this skin so sweaty? It’s hard to tell. All we know is that an Aura either means business or thinks that they’re better than they are.

Scarlet Commander

A new competitor for sweatiest skin in Fortnite has entered the chat, and their name is the Scarlet Commander. Go ahead and open Twitch right now or during a tournament. I guarantee one of the top Fortnite streamers is currently using this skin.

And it’s pretty obvious why. Since a certain skin that we will talk about next has been banned from comp, players are looking for a new skin that will give them an advantage. The Scarlet Commander is almost completely black with a few dark red accents and minimally exposed flesh. In dark areas and at night, Scarlet Commander is near invisible.

fortnite sweatiest scarlet commander

Superhero Skins

Against all odds, the superhero skins have become the sweatiest skins in the game. Even the male variants are usually worn by skilled players, which is rare.

The reason these skins were the sweatiest was because of the all-black and all-white styles. The superhero skins have been banned altogether in competitive play, but they still run rampant in pubs.

Before the ban, nearly every player in a competitive tourney was sporting one of these skins. It was all-black which was banned last year. After that ban, players switched to all-white. And now they aren’t allowed in comp play at all.

So, there you have it: the ten sweatiest cosmetics in Fortnite. It will be interesting to see which skins, pickaxes, back bling, and even gliders take over the throne over the course of the next year.

We’re sure that we missed a few cosmetics, as we only limited our list to ten. Let us know what we skipped on Twitter @FortniteINTEL.
