Fortnite Season 8 is now in full swing so we decided to take a look at what some of the best changes Fortnite made with this season are.

Epic Games usually tends to make some major changes to Fortnite at the start of each season and this one was no different.

Season 8 saw the map get several new locations, new items along with several more items being vaulted.

Let’s take a look at some of the best changes Fortnite made with the start of Season 8.

Planes were vaulted

This is a change that a lot of players were asking for and it has finally arrived.

Planes never really felt right in Fortnite as they offered an often unfair advantage by allowing players to ran through structures with.

They were nerfed near the end of Season 7 but Epic Games decided to do away with them entirely, much to the delight of the pro community.

The Volcano

While players might be mourning the loss of Wailing Woods, a location that has been there since the beginning, if it means we got the volcano because of it then it feels like a worthy tradeoff.

The volcano is arguably the best location to enter the game, at least in terms of visuals.

It’s cool to see Fortnite’s map evolve each season and the volcano is certainly one of the coolest additions made so far.

Pirate Cannons

The big new item to come with this new season is the Pirate Cannon that allows players to launch cannonballs at other players or even launch themselves.

These cannons can be found throughout the environment and while they aren’t the most effective at eliminating other players, it can be a fun item to mess around with.

What has been your favorite addition with Fortnite Season 8 so far? Let us know in the comments below!

Pinging items

This is surely a feature that was directly lifted from Apex Legends but it is something that will be much appreciated by Fortnite players.

Pinging items is a large quality of life change that hasn’t been seen in Fortnite in quite some time, which is why it makes the list here.

Party Assist

A big part of Fortnite is playing with your friends which is why adding a Party Assist feature is really cool.

Players can toggle the assist mode on and complete Daily or Weekly challenges with everyone in your party.

This is an excellent way to encourage teamwork and cooperation among friends, which is why it’s surprising it took this long to implement it.
