With less than 20 minutes to go until July 20’s Final Showdown event, Epic Games has disabled all Fortnite Battle Royale and LTM modes so players can safely enjoy the show.
Beginning around 8:30 am ET, Epic games began to remove portals to the Battle Royale Island in Creative and Playground to begin transforming the game into a potential boxing ring for the Polar Peak monster and Pressure Plant’s robot.
Around 1:30 pm ET, all modes and LTMs were temporarily disabled as a final move in preparation for the ‘Final Showdown’.
Leaks previously said that players will be given a jet pack with unlimited fuel so they can reach the high ground to view the event.
The countdown is nearly over, and preparations are underway! Portals to the Battle Royale Island have been disabled in Creative, and Playground has been disabled.— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) July 20, 2019
We think that the event will show the huge mecha fighting against the Polar Peak monster which might destroy major parts of the Fortnite Battle Royale map.
There are PSA warning posters all over the map which hint towards a destructive event, with the themes being based around WW2 propaganda.
With the Fortnite World Cup taking place next weekend from July 26 to July 28, it would be surprising to see a huge map change which could affect the event.
Players are fighting for their chance at a slice of the $30 million prize pool, so we don’t think Epic would implement a major change that would affect the game’s meta.

Until the event happens in a couple of minutes, we just have to sit back, wait, and enjoy the show!
