Limited time weekly mission packs replace daily challenges in Season X and the first set, BRUTE Squad, is now fully available for all players.
Season X changed the challenge systems in Fortnite fairly significantly with the introduction of missions. Daily challenges were replaced with new weekly, limited-time sets which can be completed by any free or premium player.
The first of these daily challenge replacement is the BRUTE Squad Mission set. These began to unlock as Season X started with a new one unlocking every day afterward. All these missions are now available.
All Season X BRUTE Squad missions now available
BRUTE Squad missions, unlike the premium weekly sets with no time limit, must be completed before the end of the week. As of August 7, players have less than 24 hours to complete these tasks.
The new mission system unlocks these challenges on a day-to-day basis and the last one became available on August 7. Here’s a full list of the missions from in-game:
- Play matches with a friend – 0/3
- Eliminations from closer than 5 meters – 0/2
- Use the BRUTE in different matches – 0/5
- Apply shields – 0/500
- Deal damage to opponents from below – 0/500
- Search chests at Dusty Depot or Pleasant Park – 0/7
- Visit Snobby Shores and Shifty Shafts in the same match – 0/1
While the missions aren’t particularly hard, they can still consume time. If you haven’t completed all of the missions, we suggest focusing on the ones you find the easiest to get the most rewards before time runs out.
Speaking of rewards, missions have a sequential reward system unlike the challenges of old. Instead of unlocking a specific prize for each challenge, every mission progresses you a single tick closer to full completion. You can see all the rewards below.
Limited time missions sets are the first time-gated tasks to include Battle Star rewards. In Season X, these are the only way for free Battle Pass players to earn tiers.
While the new system isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, it’s better than the previous implementation. The large amount of tasks available along with daily unlocks keeps us wanting to come back each day. Still, free players can’t be happy about being so limited.
