Some Fortnite community members have questioned why the NFL skins have been removed so abruptly from the popular Battle Royale title.
First released on November 9, a partnership between Fortnite and the NFL saw a new football uniform outfit that could be customized to represent all of the NFL teams.
Players could choose any team and number, with the partnership garnering an immense volume of attention from across the gaming scene.
However, the outfits were eventually removed from the Fortnite Item Shop on November 13. Soon after, some community members were quick to challenge their removal and suggested that the decision could be due to controversy.

On November 14, Nick Chester of Epic Games shot down any rumors of wrongdoing by mentioning how the NFL skins were removed on a consistent basis with other cosmetic items.
This is consistent with how we cycle every other skin into the game. No items stay in our store long term.

At the time of writing, it is unknown if, or when, the NFL skins will be added back to Fortnite.
