The Guided Missile is temporarily gone from Fortnite Battle Royale, just days after the release of its rival – the Quad Launcher. But why?

Fortnite recently announced that the Guided Missile – a weapon added in Season 5 to Battle Royale, Fortnite’s most popular game mode – was being temporarily removed from the game in order to fix an issue that they didn’t state. We have an idea as to why it got removed.

@FNBRLeaks recently tweeted a glitch that involves using the Guided Missile to actually turn invisible in-game through Shadow Stones. If you equip the Guided Missile Launcher and spam the trigger while consuming a shadow stone, you could actually turn permanently invisible.

However, it wasn’t the only bug that the Guided Missile had. Epic Games’ Community Co-Ordinator for Fortnite Sean Hamilton took to Reddit to confirm that Patch v6.10 will include a fix for the “Always North” glitch.

The “Always North” glitch isn’t the reason why the Guided Missile was removed, but it is still something that is bugging players who use the weapon. This bug sees the Guided Missiles fired out of the launcher always shoot North, no matter where the player is looking prior to pressing the trigger.

There is no information as to when the item will be back in players’ hands, but it shouldn’t be too long before we see the return of the Quad Launcher’s rival weapon.
