The race to be the first to pick up a weapon out of a chest can be a stressful situation for some Fortnite players.
Luckily, there are methods that can be implemented and practiced by players to better your chances of getting a weapon before your opponent does.
ImSpeedyGonzalez has released another helpful video which covers the main aspects of putting yourself in a better position while opening a chest.
Firstly, chests will always have the one weapon fall out to the right after being opened, unless the gun bounces off an obstacle. Always place your character with their POV facing slightly to the right of the chest.
If you and another player are both in a battle to see who can get the weapon first after dropping-in, your chances can probably be increased by turning on the ‘Auto Pick Up Weapons’ option while ‘spamming’ the ‘Use’ button/ key.
You can view the full video below for a detailed demonstration.
It should be noted that even if you attempt these methods, an enemy player might still be able to grab the weapon out of a chest before you due to internet and ping differences.
